GPS Satellite and Cellular Tracking Options
GPS tracking and truck technology is constantly evolving. At Track Your Truck, we offer the most cutting-edge devices and services to help businesses better monitor their vehicles. Below, learn about the options we offer.
Real-Time Cellular Devices
These options are an affordable way to track vehicles. The cellular option is recommended for vehicles that will operate in areas with reliable reception. Some of the features of our real-time cellular devices include real-time tracking of vehicle location, speed and direction. This information is available 24 hours per day, seven days a week. Standard updates can be as frequent as every 30 seconds – depending on the device – and devices are certified by major cell phone service providers for reliability.
More advanced models include the “starter kill” option, meaning a vehicle can be disabled remotely if it is stolen.
Our selection of cellular real-time GPS vehicle tracking devices includes the following:
• Coyote ST Standard Real-Time Tracking
• Coyote RT Rapid Real-Time Tracking
• Coyote AT Advanced Real-Time Tracking
Passive Cellular Devices
A “passive” GPS tracking device transfers data less frequently. Because they are cellular devices, they operate the best in urban settings, or in areas with good cell phone reception. Depending on the device, GPS updates can be as frequent as every two minutes, when connected to a power source, or between one and six updates per day when using the internal battery. These devices are completely water proof and sealed for exterior mounting as well as certified by major cell carriers for upmost reliability. Antennas are concealed internally to prevent tampering.
Additional features can include the accelerometer to detect rapid movement.
The passive cellular devices we carry include the following:
• SkyHawk TT – Active/Passive Trailer/Equipment Tracking
• SkyHawk TT-S – Passive, Self-Contained Trailer/Equipment Tracking
Satellite Devices
Satellite tracking is more commonly used for vehicles that travel longer distances, or vehicles that travel in intermittent cellular coverage areas. It is an ideal option for companies that operate in remote areas.
Reporting by satellite devices is very detailed, and updates are available in real time. Businesses can track equipment location, speed and direction of travel. The frequency of updates can vary by device, and options range from standard tracking of six times per day, twice per day or once per day. Additional features can include tamper-proof antennas and motion sensors.
Our satellite GPS tracking devices include the following:
• SkyHawk II-S – Pure Satellite Asset and Theft Recovery Tracking
• SkyHawk II – Pure Satellite Asset/Equipment Tracking
